TERA Europe Classic+

Classic TERA, rebuilt on the modern 64-bit client by the team behind TERA Europe Classic. Free to play, no pay-to-win.

Classic TERA, shaped by the people who stayed.

Classic+ is our community-built version of classic TERA, running on client v100.02. It keeps the combat, the dungeons, and the world structure people remember, and pairs them with skills and mechanics pulled from the versions where they felt best. The newer client holds up better under load, and it lets us build custom content the old one could not support.

The game is not frozen at one patch, and there is no Apex. Every system on this page went through tester feedback before launch, and that continues after release: if something feels wrong, tell us on Discord.

Concept art of the restored Island of Dawn

Island of Dawn, back for real.

You start on the original Island of Dawn, not Stepstone Isle. Its terrain, vegetation, lighting, and atmosphere were ported piece by piece from the 32-bit client to the 64-bit one. New characters arrive as Valkyon Federation recruits and follow a BAM-hunting campaign from the beach to level 20, through Timeless Woods, Mathar Spire, the Black Rift, and the Tainted Gorge.

  • A new opening sequence replaces Stepstone Isle
  • Rewritten NPC dialogue and restored classic cutscenes
  • Restored expedition NPCs and updated monster appearances
  • Modern BAMs are now the island's core challenge

Prefer the old route? A desertion scroll drops you near Lumbertown instead, where Fey Forest covers levels 1 to 12 before the story reconnects in Velika.

The road to 65

Every leveling dungeon returns, rebalanced for five-player parties, and one clear moves you to the next instance. Twenty to sixty-five takes about five to six hours through dungeons. Questing stays in as the slower, more grounded route, and the whole world was re-scaled to pace it properly.

Bastion of Lok

Cosmetics, earned in the world.

Every yellow quest pays out Fashion Coupons for equipment cosmetics, dressing your character along the way. At endgame, Meruma Fashion Coins cover most v31 costumes for free.

The Fashion Coupon shop was rebuilt around converted equipment looks and unique weapons and armor, sorted by class. Mount speeds are equalized, every account gets Founder status, and Elite is trimmed to practical conveniences. Nothing in any shop makes you hit harder.

Four adventurers riding decorated piglings

Thirteen classes, rebuilt without Apex.

Apex and its questline are gone, with that power folded back into the core kits. Each class was rebuilt from the mechanics that played best across TERA's versions, then tuned with damage, utility, and pacing closer to the spirit of earlier TERA. Testers on our Discord weighed in on every pass. Sniper's Eye, Mocking Shout, Titanic Wrath, and Burst of Celerity are back, along with others.

Warrior footage is on the way.

Fast dual-sword fighter built on long attack chains. Assault Stance turns it into a damage dealer; Defensive Stance makes it an evasion tank.

  • Blade DrawStab and slash your target as you draw your weapon from the wound.
  • Rain of BlowsExecute a flurry of sword swings while advancing on your foe.
  • Deadly GambleIncreases your chance to crit for 20 seconds.
  • Rising FurySlash a target twice.

New race and class combinations

Popori can finally roll Reaper, Gunner, Ninja and Valkyrie. That has never been possible on any TERA server. The rest of the late-retail roster is in as well.

A popori adventurer
ReaperElin, and now Popori
GunnerCastanic and High Elf women, Elin, and now Popori
BrawlerHumans of both genders, Elin, and Popori
NinjaElin, and now Popori
ValkyrieCastanic women, Elin, and now Popori

The longer-term goal is every class open to every race and gender. And race animation-speed differences are gone: every race attacks at the same speed, so you play the character you want instead of the one with the fastest animations.

Character creation, unlocked

The creator was overhauled from the ground up. Every unique in-game hairstyle, hair color, skin color, and eye color is free for everyone, Meruma's hairstyles included. Modded faces, adornments, and hairs join the roster, along with signature NPC appearances like Fraya and Rhodos, and Popori males finally get working eye colors.

The Popori eye colors and several of the added skin tones build on mods by Yams and the OSTO server. Credit where it is due.

The endgame rotation

Endgame runs on eight fights: four entry dungeons, a new custom dungeon, two nightmare modes with reworked bosses, and the Heaven's Arena boss rush. Drops, crafting, and enchanting feed one chain, so every dungeon stays worth running. RK-9 Kennel follows after release as the gear-cap challenge.

Lakan's Prison
A dragon waiting at the heart of Kelsaik's hall

Mournshard, the PvE gear line

Gear drops identified and ready to use. Enchants run +1 to +12 with class-aware fixed bonuses on weapons, chest, gloves, and footwear, and weapons carry their own enchant-color progression onto supported skins.

Materials come from the whole rotation, so earlier dungeons stay useful at higher stages. Lakan's Prison also pays a pity currency: about 30 runs guarantees a full set for your class.

Heaven's Arena sits beside the dungeons as a rebuilt boss rush: seven stages drawn from a thirty-boss pool, its own scoring and time grades, and a summonable lancer ally when you need a wall.

PvP gets its own gear line.

Skyshard is the PvP counterpart to Mournshard. A class-aware introductory quest in Highwatch hands you the base set, so you can enter battlegrounds without grinding PvE first. From there the set enchants from +1 to +12 through its own system, with stats and safeguards tuned for fighting other players.

Bellicarium quartermasters return with separate shops for Skyshard weapons, armor, and enchanting materials. Battleground currencies stay the fastest way to push the set.

PvE and PvP trade with each other

PvE stays the best way to progress PvE gear, and PvP the best way to progress PvP gear. But each side produces materials the other needs, and every material is tradeable. If battleground queues are quiet, or dungeons are not your thing, you buy what you are missing from players who enjoy them.

The launcher is also a mod manager.

Classic+ ships with over 500 visual GPK mods: community favorites freshly restored, plus mods adapted from the 32-bit client for the first time. Browse, install, and update any of them from the launcher in a couple of clicks, without touching game files.

Shinra Meter handles damage tracking, and TERA Custom Cooldowns ships alongside it. Both come bundled and kept up to date.

None of this is ours alone. Every mod page in the launcher names its creator, Shinra Meter is the work of Gl0 and Neowutran, TERA Custom Cooldowns is Foglio's, and several restorations build on mods by Yams and the OSTO server. The credits page lists every creator we ship.

Same login, nothing to migrate

Accounts are shared between Classic and Classic+. Sign in with the username and password you already use; there is no separate registration and nothing to move by hand. Characters start fresh, because everyone starts fresh.

Spent coins return as balance

Tera Coins and Crazy Coins you spent on Classic will be credited back to your Classic+ account as balance. The transfer tool unlocks before launch, and we will announce the moment it does.
